Good Rockin' One More Addiction
By Kellie Underhill

For a rocking good time plan to spend New Year's Eve at Choo Choo's with One More Addiction, a local cover band who specialize in rock music.

CCR, Steve Miller, AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, 3 Doors Down and Creed are just a few of the bands they cover with their energetic mixture of classic and new rock songs.

Tickets for the New Year's Eve performance are just $6/person and this band promises to deliver a show that will have you on the dance floor.

One More Addiction values performing above all else.

"We play music that people really like to dance to. There's always something going on while we're onstage," Brendon Sturgeon laughs. "There could be three people there, but if they're into it . . . we'll give them a show!"

"If nobody showed up, I don't think we'd play," he adds.

The band got its start Spring 2000 with Rikki Smith and Louis Barrieau on vocals and guitar, Stephane Veilleux on drums and Butch Brown playing bass.

After a year rehearsing, the band performed a few times and then Butch moved away. Playing bass wasn't what he had intended after the break-up of his own band but when One More Addiction asked him Brendon joined and never looked back.

One highlight of the New Year's Eve performance will be the special debut of the band's first original song, "The Other Side" from their self-titled CD to be released in 2004.

Brendon and Rikki have previous experience writing, recording and putting a CD together. They recently collaborated on an album project as the group East Coast Rebellion and sold their CD all over the world.

All the band members have a long history of entertaining in the Miramichi region having been involved with many other bands.
