Miramichi Opry by Kellie Underhill
Heather Somers started singing as a little girl in Sunday school with her sisters
and brother.
With the release of her first CD this past December, she's one step closer to
reaching her dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry.
Classy Country was recorded locally at Nigel's Studio and sold really well
around Christmas. It received some attention with an article appearing in the Telegraph Journal and songs can be heard on
the local radio station, 99.3 The River.
Classy Country celebrates traditional country music with seven cover tracks
and three original tunes.

Cover tracks include Family Bible, Connie Smith's
Once a Day, Pride by Jeannie Seely, Loretta Lynn's Table for Two, Candy Kisses by George Morgan,
Tommy Hunter's Makin' Plans, and Roses in Winter by Merle Haggard.
The three original songs are called Mr. Anderson, Good Ole USA
and Bridges.
Bridges is a two-step country song written by Nigel Mullin
who also plays steel guitar on the CD. Good Ole USA examines the friendly relationship between Canada and our neighbours
to the south. Mr. Anderson addresses the famous country singer, Bill Anderson.
"Please Mr. Anderson, won't you put me on the Opry. Won't take long, to
sing my song," the lyrics say.
"It's about wanting to get on the Grand Ole Opry and hoping he would help,"
Heather says.
Heather and Nigel used to perform together locally as Two Dollar Bill.
They haven't performed much recently as they've been focused on recording in the studio. They want to write more original
material and make a record in Nashville.
Classy Country costs $15 and is available at Sunny Corner Irving, Mon's
Coffee Shop in Sunny Corner, Route 108 Convenience in Renous, Northumberland Co-Op, Fabric Outlet, Wilson's Gas Bar, Hamilton's
Grocery, Saltwater Sounds, the Ultramar on Williamstown Road, and Irving Keyboard.
